The students admitted into the Bachelor’s Program in Visual Communication would be well-equipped in the Visual Arts, Photography techniques, Graphic design, Videography, 2D & 3D Animation, AR and VR techniques, media ethics, script writing, and Film Making.
The MRCAS community is already diverse and vibrant, and we welcome you to add your unique perspectives to enrich diversity and innovation. We have integrated industrial expertise from various industries, such as Advertising, Marketing, Education and Entertainment, into the course contents. It enables students to have first-hand experience with industrial awareness and possess exemplary skills in the Media Industry.
Our students also undergo rigorous internships and training in renowned media production houses and IT companies as part of the curriculum. As a part of the MRCAS EDGE curriculum, we offer an array of Mobile Journalism (MOJO), Stop Motion Visuals, Image Editing Tools, Digital Branding, Web Designing and Visual Ads. Potential career opportunities include in the Media & Entertainment industry.

MRCAS Edge goes beyond the University curriculum to offer students all the courses that are needed to enhance their employability in every stream of study. The curriculum is carefully curated keeping in mind the skills needed for employability and the latest industry requirements. The MRCAS EDGE offers a T Shaped approach to learning, where students studying in one stream have the freedom to attend courses offered in other streams. The students are therefore encouraged to take up Value Added Courses (VAC), Skill Based Courses (SBC) and Online Certification Courses (OCC) to gain a multi-disciplinary learning experience. The design and delivery of the MRCAS Edge Programs have been formulated with Advisors from premier Institutions like IIT Madras, TSM and leading multinational corporations.

Visual Media Association (VMA)
The Visual Media Association (VMA) is run by the students of the Visual Communication Department to organise engaging events like guest lectures, photography workshops, drone-training workshops, and seminars on advertising etc. To foster holistic development and necessary visual acumen in students, the association also engages in practical learning sessions on filmmaking, motion designs, and cinematography, comparing theoretical perspectives with industrial examples.
