At MRCAS, students will obtain comprehensive and structural training in various areas like fashion designing, pattern-making, fashion draping, and computer-aided designing. MRCAS Edge goes beyond the University curriculum to offer students all the courses that are needed to enhance their employability in every stream of study. The curriculum is carefully curated keeping in mind the skills needed for employability and the latest industry requirements. The MRCAS EDGE offers a T Shaped approach to learning, where students studying in one stream have the freedom to attend courses offered in other streams. The students are therefore encouraged to take up Value Added Courses (VAC), Skill Based Courses (SBC) and Online Certification Courses (OCC) to gain a multi-disciplinary learning experience. The design and delivery of the MRCAS Edge Programs have been formulated with Advisors from premier Institutions like IIT Madras, TSM and leading multinational corporations.

The Imfashini Association (TA) has been established, comprising of the students of the Department of Costume Designing and fashion technology. This association aims to keep our students up to date with the prevailing world fashion trends and explore different forms of industrial technology used across the globe in the field of apparel designing and manufacturing technology.
We are also determined to explore the field of green fashion, promoting sustainable manufacturing techniques in the field of fashion technology. Eminent industrial icons would be invited to educate the students by conducting workshops, seminars, conference and creative fashion games. The Imfashini Association also offers additional classes on fashionable saree draping, ornamentation and accessories making, home decor product making, make over workshop etc, to enhance the skills of students. As a part of this association, students will visit boutiques, fashion houses and industrial visits in garment industry provide experience internships with highly scalable industries.
