The Department of Visual Communication at MRCAS successfully organized an enriching workshop titled “Script to Screen”. The event kicked off with a warm welcome address from Mr. P. Arun Subash, setting the tone for an engaging day. Dr. T. Kalaiselvan, the esteemed Director of MRCAS, then delivered a compelling presidential address, emphasizing the importance of visual storytelling in the realm of communication.
Adding to the distinguished lineup of speakers, Dr. M. Padmavathi, the Principal of MRCAS, graced the occasion with a felicitation address, acknowledging the significance of such workshops in nurturing creative talent. Mr. Babu Shajan Kevin, with his insightful introduction, presented the chief guest for the day, Mr. C. Manikandan, a notable figure from the Manipal Institute of Communication.
The core focus of the workshop centered on guiding students through the process of transforming a conceptual idea into a well-crafted script. Practical training sessions were conducted, allowing students to gain hands-on experience in capturing scenes on camera.
