Message from Head of the Department
Welcome to the Department of Business Administration, MRCAS, Madurai.
Our vision is to build an iconic BBA in South India, delivering world-class learning at Madurai through a student-driven approach to management education. Inspired by Madurai’s rich business heritage, we prepare students for the digital business era through Business Analytics, Digital Marketing, innovation and experiential learning.
Our educational philosophy focuses on three dimensions of success:
- Entrepreneurship: Nurturing innovators and future entrepreneurs through MRCAS E-Cell, the National Entrepreneurship Challenge organised by E-Cell, IIT Bombay, the Peace Investment Lab and Green Business initiatives.
- Industry Employment: Developing industry-ready professionals through practical projects, digital skills, business challenges and professional development.
- Higher Studies: Building strong academic foundations, analytical thinking, research aptitude and lifelong learning for advanced studies and professional specialisation.

MRCAS EDGE
MRCAS Edge goes beyond the University curriculum to offer students all the courses that are needed to enhance their employability in every stream of study. The curriculum is carefully curated keeping in mind the skills needed for employability and the latest industry requirements. The MRCAS EDGE offers a T Shaped approach to learning, where students studying in one stream have the freedom to attend courses offered in other streams. The students are therefore encouraged to take up Value Added Courses (VAC), Skill Based Courses (SBC) and Online Certification Courses (OCC) to gain a multi-disciplinary learning experience. The design and delivery of the MRCAS Edge Programs have been formulated with Advisors from premier Institutions like IIT Madras, TSM and leading multinational corporations.

Department Activities
INFOBYTES ASSOCIATION
The Infobytes Association is a part of the MRCAS EDGE curriculum, which strives to enhance domain-specific knowledge through experiential learning and industrial expertise.
To foster a pragmatic approach to learning, our department ensures that we bring eminent speakers from IBM, Autodesk, Guvigeek HCL, and Infosys Springboard to empower our students about the real time expectations in IT industry.
Our MRCAS Computer Science department students have pioneered and bought a group called Special Interest Groups (SIG’s) that facilitates the discussions on the rapidly shifting developments in Industrial Trends and Technologies.
To empower creative thinking and foster technical expertise, two clubs, namely, Techwiz and Zigbee, have been created under the Infobytes Association.
These clubs aim to bridge the gap between academia and real-life industrial functioning, thus, equipping students with in-depth operational IT skills and expertise.
