Manikam Ramaswami College of Arts and Science (MRCAS) an initiative from Thiagaraja School of management (TSM) Madurai. Organised a guest lecture in the topic “Applications of AI and Hands on session in implementation of chat bot” by Dr.E.Srie Vidhya Janani Assistant professor, CSE, Anna University Regional Campus, on 19th July 2024 between 9:30am – 11:00 am. lecture started with an introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI), defining it as “Thinking humanly” and explaining the Turing test, rationality, and cognitive science aspects. She then elaborated on various applications of AI, including:

– Smartphones
– Deep learning techniques for facial recognition
– Machine learning for weather forecasting
– AI virtual assistants
– Communication
– Social media applications
– Surveillance systems
– E-commerce and entertainment
– Education applications (Jill Watson, Pounce, WHO, Kian, Meta AI, Cognitive Immersive Room)

She highlighted China’s lead in AI robotics in classrooms and demonstrated innovative applications like paying bills through face recognition, remote monitoring, brain wave sensing gadgets, and smart surveillance.

The lecture concluded with a hands-on session on building a chatbot using Google Dialog flow, providing a practical learning experience for the students.

Overall, the guest lecture was informative, engaging, and insightful, offering a comprehensive understanding of AI’s diverse applications and potential.
