Manikam Ramaswami College of Arts and Science (MRCAS) an initiative from Thiagarajar School of management (TSM) Madurai. Organised an internal hackathon – Smart India Hackathon on 6th September 2024.
Overview:
MRCAS recently hosted a successful internal hackathon, bringing together young talents from CS Department and proposing innovative solutions to the problem statements from ministry/Government Departments/public and private sectors. challenge focused on the areas such Smart Automation, Agriculture, Food tech & Rural Development, Transportation & Logistic, Clean & Green Technology, Disaster Management, Fitness & Sports, Robotics and Drones, and Smart Education. This event fostered young talented collaboration, driving creative thinking and showcasing the talent.
Participation:
Over 100 students formed teams from across various problem statements posted in SIH portal.
Theme and Challenges:
Teams spent 4 hrs actively presenting their ideas. The ideas are evaluated by Jury of members from the industry and staff members of the Department of Computations.
Evaluation and Guidance:
The industry experts. Dr. Beschi Raja, Co-Founder and CEO of SURUL Chettinad Ayurvedic under SIHI Heritage Soil Industries visited our college in person and S. Kailash, Scientist E, C-DAC, Chennai joined in Zoom call for evaluation of ideas. Experts not only evaluated the proposed solution but also provided their guidance in improving the proposed solutions.
Impact and outcomes:
The event ignited young minds and encouraged team building, innovation and creativity.
Innovation Catalyst:
The hackathon sparked numerous creative ideas with potential to be shortlisted by Smart India Hackathon 2024.
Students Engagement:
The event generated significant excitement and enthusiasm among students, boosting overall morale and engagement.
Looking Ahead:
Internal Hackathon SPOC from our college would be uploading ideas presented by our young talented minds in SIH 2024 portal and with lots of hope for ideas of our students to be selected.
