The Department of Physical Education has celebrated the National Sports Day today. The Chief Guest Mr. A. Vijaykandaswamy sir graced the occasions. He spoke on the sports as a Blueprint for Success in life & distributed Medal & Certificate to Intramural Tournament 🏆🥇Winners & 🥈Runners !!

MRCAS buzzed with dynamism and energy as the Intramural Sports Tournament was kicked off the previous week from 23 August 2024. On the 23^rd of August 2024 students showcased their sport prowess in a series of exciting matches, commencing with volleyball for the boys and throwball for the girls. On the following days students reverberated a spirit of enthusiasm. On the following the energy reached new heights with a focus on cricket matches for the boys and ball badminton for girls, igniting passionate rivalries and enthusiastic cheers from the sidelines. The campus echoed with the sounds of whistling referees, pounding volleyballs, and the spirited shouts of supporters, reflecting the true essence of college spirit and camaraderie. The tournament’s final day ended with kho-kho matches for both boys and girls on 28 August 2024.

The events concluded with the celebrations of National Sports Day 2024 on 29 August 2024. Mr. A. Vijaykandasamy, Former Madurai District Cricketer, Madurai, addressed the students on the importance of sportsmanship in developing the overall personality more than just the physique. He also threw light on the psychological aspects of involving and practicing sports. The scope of sports in the upcoming years was also highlighted. The Chief Guest honored the winners of the sports events with medals and trophies. The students of the Department of Commerce won the overall championship trophy for the year 2024 – 2025.
